Gallbladder Diseases
The most common gallbladder conditions are gallstones and inflammation (cholecystitis). These may present with symptoms such as pain in the upper right abdomen, nausea, and indigestion. Gallstones can lead to infection, bile duct obstruction, and even jaundice.
Diagnosis is typically made through ultrasound imaging. The most effective and permanent treatment is the surgical removal of the gallbladder. Today, this procedure is usually performed using a minimally invasive (laparoscopic) technique, offering a shorter recovery time and lower risk.
