Revisional Bariatric Surgery
Revisional bariatric surgery refers to corrective procedures performed when a previous weight loss surgery has resulted in insufficient weight loss, weight regain, or complications.
For example, patients who did not achieve adequate results or experienced stomach enlargement after a sleeve gastrectomy may be converted to a gastric bypass. Similarly, patients who previously underwent a gastric band procedure with unsuccessful outcomes may also be candidates for revision.
A personalized treatment plan is created based on the patient’s current condition, surgical history, and overall health status.
